Are you saying that you did a job for which you cannot now be paid unless you show your birth certificate? If this is the case, I would caution you to be very careful as this sounds like a scam.
The only scenario I can think of where an employer might need to see proof of date or place of birth is where he needs to do a background check or needs to make sure you are permitted to work before putting you on the payroll.
And just so that you know, your birth certificate is never 'an original'. All birth certificates are just copies of an entry on the birth registry. The ones used for official purposes like passport applications would need a stamp which shows them to be certified copies.
Edit: try fax, if they kick up a fuss you can always send a certified copy later. |

you need to go to the place your birth was regestered to get a copy, you dont need original, just your mum and dads info to get it, it does normally cost about 5-10 pound depending on the office |

i don't think you can photocopy a birth certificate as this could be anybodies. Always use Original copys. if you dont have a birthcretificate its only £17 from the town house you wage will cover this anyway |
