so ok this bizznatch from the unemployment called me and i just moved but it looks like ive failed to accept an offer of work in sept 10th when they mailed me 2 referrals, she was rude and asked me all these questions and i told her the 10th i had to take my cousin who was in labor to the hospital and she had her baby, then i told her i found two other suited jobs i could apply for, she asked why i didnt follow through with the referrals i told her and i told her the first one was at the place i go to counceling for and i didnt apply cuz i have a felony on my record and my councelor that works there told me that felonies usually would bar me from working there, and the second one i did go in and apply but then they gave me a fingerprint card and said i had to go get my prints done and pay 10.00 i told her i didnt have the money and plus that because im a felon that working with seniors wasnt an option either, than i had to tell her about my probation which is very minimal 3 days a week i call in,s, so i went on for an hour explaining myself and giving her a new address cuz i just moved last friday but i told her the move only took me one day cuz its only 4 hours away and i gave her 3 places i looked for work last week, so now shes gonna send me a letter with her decision on if im still elligable i think i have a legitamate reason for failure to apply to those jobs but what do you think? DO YOU think that the answer will be yes i can still receive benefits or NO i wont be able to and pay the money back, and please just answer the question i dont need smack for my history im trying desperately to find a job but i need that money to keep me a float

if you had applied and did not get hired this would not be an issue but instead you are making excuses for not even applying...................
you most likely will forfeit the benefits, due to your inaction's, so.....
learn from your mistakes and if you get to keep the benefits this time don't make the same mistakes again.
what state are you in and what job said you had to pay for your own fingerprinting.
generally that is illegal, employers can not make you pay for pre-employment test or screenings. |

No, you will not be able to continue receiving benefits. You're using the felony on your record as a valid excuse to keep from applying for suitable work. The unemployment office does not consider your felony to be a valid excuse for not applying. You should have followed up on those referrals instead of making up excuses. As far as I'm concerned if you really are desperately trying to find a job you wouldn't have ignored those referrals and would be doing a much more thorough job search. IMO, applying at 3 places per week is not a thorough job search. |

I agree with the first answer, if you had applied for the jobs even if you knew you wouldn't be approved the jobcentre couldn't complain. To them it looks like you couldn't be bothered and your trying to find excuses. Start racking up some jobs, even if your record might stop you getting the job at least they can see your trying and not just using your past as an excuse. I don't think the jobcentre is gonna be to forgiving, they have stopped benefits for less. But if you can show your trying then they might let it slip this time. |
