if you are in America [and unless you are covered by a union contract] the answer is probably yes.
most employment in America is "at will" and any derogatory information about the employee, if truthful, is cause for discharge.
naturally, you probably lied on your employment application, too -- and in some states you therefore aren't eligible for unemployment. |

I have a couple of questions
1. Did you state that on you application?
-if not, then that is falsification of the application an grounds for termination.
2. Did they state that your employment is contingent on the result of the back ground check.
If they did then this should not be a shock
if not, they it stills does not matter because to apparently lied on the application so they will fire you any way.
I have know for some background checks to take at least a year depending on how deep they are digging for information. |
