Can i work in another job while I am signed sick off from my first job?

If you are capable of doing a different job then you should not be off sick from the first one.

"Work related stress" is the latest buzz word for the terminally lazy and workshy.

no if someone see you and reports it to your bosses they can sack you.when you have a sick note signing you off it means you are unfit for work of any kind.

If you've been signed off sick and your job is still paying you, or you're on sick leave getting sick pay, then no you can't work in another one until you resign your existing one (it's called fraud)

If you are signed off sick from work then that is exactly what it is - you cannot pick and choose which forms of work you want to do, you are supposed to be sick full stop. If your employer find out that you are still working a second job they could well sack you right away.

I would be very carefull because if you get found out you could get into a lot of trouble - its fraudualent.

It depends what the other job is. If it is charity work, without pay, there should be no problem, provided your GP gave you the green light. It could be advisable to do this work to get over your stress, for instance.
If you have two paid jobs you may be in breach of contract with your first employer and could be sacked without notice. Depends on the terms of your contract. If you receive sick pay you could also lose that and be in big trouble with the benefit authorities.

Make your mind up. In your other post you claim you were signed off sick, unable to work because of stress. Now suddenly you can work.
I think you are not telling us the whole truth.

if you are signed off sick, you are still an employee there.. and receiving sick pay or benefits?

you can get a new job.. but you have to leave the other job to do that. if you have another job lined up to start. tell your job your not coming back and go start the new job

if you want to look for a new job.. either resign from the job and pray your savings will last you.. or speak to the benefits office. you may be able to claim income support.. job seekers allowance whilst you look

Legally no, you need your NI number and if you use it it clashes with your sick note.

i have a staff member who has called in sick all week with a stomach bug. another colleague has just seen her working her second job in a bar!!! Can i terminate her contract legally based on this? Her second job is outside her wroking hours with us but as far as i can see, she has lied and the team have had to pick up the rest of her work!!!
