Can my boss with-hold my paycheck from me? What's going on?

I recently got a full-time job, leaving my part time job during the week. I told my manager I would get back to her about my schedule to let her know if I could work during the weekends.

She hasn't tried to contact me(she claims I'm not answering her calls, when I have talked to all my other co-workers since), and she put me on the schedule and told my co-workers to tell me she's going to fire me for not showing up to work, even though I told her I'd get back to her to let her know my schedule for sure.

She finally called me and left a voicemail, telling me to turn in my keys and sign my "paperwork" but hasn't mentioned why.

She also told my co-workers not to let me take my paycheck because she wants to talk to me. Isn't that illegal.

Also why is she acting like this? I asked for a promotion and she said no, so I found a new job that pays 3x as much. I still said I wanted to help on the weekends, and she's talking about me behind my back. Telling my co-workers it will be better without me since I talked about them to her behind their backs. She always told me I could vent if I have a problem and said it would be confidential....

If you are in the US, withholding your paycheck is illegal. Try to work it out yourself. Howver, if they still withhold your check, contact the DOL to file an FLSA complaint. Good luck

you should tender your resignation to clear things up and make time to personally talk to her. i am sure she will release your paycheck as soon as you turn over your accountabilities and complete your clearances.
