Can my employer choose to ignore my direct deposit on file?
Find answers to your legal question.

Can my employer choose to ignore my direct deposit on file?

I live in Nevada, we are receiving bonuses & the management decided to cut them all as live checks. I really do not want a live check, I want it to be direct deposited. Can they ignore the request I have on file & give me a live check. I understand if they needed to do it for reasons of just getting me paid, but they are choosing this. Can they do that?

I am thankful, but I am also on the accounting side of things & want to be sure we are not doing anything that would cause us additional liability. I am totally thankful I have a job.

Are you crazy?! Just take the damn check and deposit it yourself and thank your lucky stars that you even have a job!

If you are receiving bonuses, I personally would accept it in any form! Have you seen how much unemployment there is out there? Be thankful you have a job AND a bonus.

They sure can. There is no law or regulation that says a company must send all of your checks through Direct Deposit.

Due to various business needs and decisions, this is actually not that uncommon. Just be grateful that you not only have a job but are getting a bonus.

Absolutely.

as long as you are paid they can pay anyway they want, there is no law that says how you are paid just that you are paid
