I agree with what has been largely said but legally unless you can can show some form of discrimination then the employer can dismiss you |

It's unlikely that a decent employer would dismiss you for genuine ilness. If you are regularly absent, that may be different. |

Until you have over 1 years service you are classed as an unprotected employee. This means that unless they dismiss you on a ground such as discrimination you cannot take an unfair dismissal claim and therefore it is relatively easy to get rid of someone in the first year.
That said, I don't know of many employers who would dismiss someone for being genuinely ill. As previously said most employers will only get annoyed if you are absent a lot or if you don't follow their procedure for notifying them of your absence. |

most employers are understanding about these things they would only really sack you if you made a habbit of pulling sickies...if you have rang them and let them know and go and see the doctor whilst you are off you should find that this will be ok |

the truth is, that while you are on a probationary period with any employer, then can let you go for what ever reason they can think of, but this may not be the case with yours, are they a company that go through a lot of staff? if so you maybe in danger. if not then you should be ok, get a doctors cert if you are going to be off for more than 3 days and get someone to take it in for you.
hope things will be ok! |
