Can you have your degree taken away?
Find answers to your legal question.

Can you have your degree taken away?

I was told that if you have a degree in criminal justice you can have your degree taken away if you get yourself in trouble with the law, is this true? or does it depend on how bad it is? How minor would the crime be if this is true?

Your degree wouldn't be taken away for something like that. But occasionally degrees are rescinded by the university that granted them if they find that the person really didn't meet the requirements. It happened a year or two ago at the University of West Virginia, and several high ranking university officials lost their jobs over giving out the degree in the first place.

You can never have your degree taken from you. But you can lose any licenses you have.

Besides, who would take it? The University? They have other things to do.
