Yes they can. Most aplications and offer's of employment have a clause that is contigent on things such as background check and/or drug testing. So if you lied on your application, or did not divulge a conviction, etc. you can be terminated. |

You bet. If they used a third party agency to conduct the background check (most employers do), then you are entitled to a copy of the report that resulted in your termination (see Fair Credit Reporting Act). |

yes... in most states unless you are in a union or have an employment contract, a employer can fire you because his toast was burnt by his wife that morning. |
