I am not a case worker however, I have had to deal with caseworkers before. Most people like a case worker who listons to their cliants and doesnot try to act as though they know better about a cliants needs then the cliend does. |

You are asking a question in a rather specialised area. I am a retired banker but I had a lot of contact with solicitors. You say "caseworker" (legal). In the absence of someone who may have gone through the routine already my advice would be on these lines:- go to the search engine and enter 'Law Society' then try and fit your area (eg Brighton) so that you can get into contact with a Local Law Society - they meet regularly - so on a local basis you can ask their Secretary if there is a Solicitor who can help you out with a career problem - but mention exactly in what way. I have always found that if you start somewhere your enquiries will bear fruition within their own networking system. You can do this straight away! |

This sounds like a paralegal (lawyer's assistant) job. Basically, you would gather information relating to the case on hand (if it was an automobile accident, names of witnesses, other driver, police report, any medical bills, etc.) Basically, anything that would help your case. You might be in touch with the clients and talking directly to them. If there are documents your attorney has to respond to, you'll put them on a calendar and make sure they are out by that date. Some days it will be overwhelming, and other days it will be very slow. Other paralegals work more on preparing the legal documents and case law synopsis. It will depend on your attorney and what he or she wants you to do. |

A caseworker gathers all the relevant information from a client and then builds up the paperwork and evidence including dealing with all correspondence, contacts, visits etc etc dependent on the case
Basically you do all the legwork and your boss takes the credit |
