Companies that don't ask minors for work permits..?

If a company in Wisconsin hires several minors and does not require them to provide work permits, can the company get in legal trouble? Who would take care of these issues? Thanks

In cali they require permits and yes you can get in trouble for not having them. however I think its a stupid waste of taxpayers money and school officials time. parents should be the ones to decide if they are allowed to work.
