Convicted felon gonna haunt me forever?

Im a convicted felon because I was in a house that had alot of drugs in it and it got raided and i refused to snitch on anybody there so i got blamed.. now i cant find a job or nothing. what should i do.? i need help. what could i say to employers to let them see that im not the man that my record says i am. im not a bad person.should i start lying on applications? should i lie to my peers? please help

Well, you can face the problem head-on. Let them know you have a record and you'd like to tell them about it.

Then give a brief but honest summary of how you ended up with the record. The down side of this is that while you held your friends in confidence, an employer will see you as failing to do the right thing.

If you have a parole officer or a halfway house counselor, see what their opinion is of dealing with this situation. Maybe you can get a copy of the documentation about your arrest and conviction that would support your decision to maintain your silence.

If it's been awhile, and you haven't been in any trouble since, you might be able to get your record expunged. You'd have to contact a lawyer about that

It was your decision to take the rap. I'm afraid you have to lay in the bed you had made.You should have thought of the consequences. Do the people who were the real criminal worth your life being almost destroyed? What did they do for you to be so loyal?

Contact your state on job referrals for convicted felons, or your parol officer asking for any state programs assisting convicted felons to get a job. There are companies which offer jobs to convicted felons when referred by the authority.

You must be able to appeal the conviction. Surely you were in the wrong place @ the wrong time. Do not lie, as this will only look worse & you will wear yourself out trying to remember what lie you told to whom.

Get a lawyer, try an appeal then explain properly to a prospective employer what exactly happened. I don't know how old you are but no-one is perfect & we all make mistakes, surely there is someone that will give you a go?

I don't think you will be able to get a job where a police reference/clearance is first on the list for a prospective employee like in a bank etc., there are many more jobs you can do. You must always be straight forward or you will make yourself look worse than what you are. Good luck
