Copy of forklift certificate?

Does my former employer have any obligation to provide me with copies of my forklift certificates? The training organization no longer have copies as it was above five years ago that the initial training was done. I left my previous employer eight months ago.

Nope. Especially if the previous employer is the one who paid for the training. Plus, I know at my husbands warehouse, since they are the ones who did the training, it is only good at his warehouse. They are not certified for any other location.

Forklifts do not require an additional license. Companies certify based on policy rather than law. A previous certification should hold no more value to a new company than your word.. |

Unless you paid for your forklift training you won't be able to get anything out of your employer. On top of all that all you really need to do is to prove to a new employer that your able to operate a forklift safely and they should be able to give you a forklift training certificate with no problems. |
