Criminal justice major looking for a job, but not sure how to go about it?

I'm a criminal justice and biology double major currently in my second to last year in college. I have a 3.0 and also looking for a job (part time or internship) that will help me get a jump start on my possible career. I want to be a cop or work somewhere within law enforcement. How would I go about this? Where should I look for jobs or internships? Any help would be great thanks. I also live in new york new jersey metropolitan area if that helps.

You'll be fine. NYC is hiring new cops right now! You could probably start now as it only requires 60 credit hours. I think they have summer cadet programs. You'll have to google them. But don't worry, enjoy the summers and just finish the degree. You'll be able to start academy right after you graduate - just don't commit any felonies because that is the only potential pitfall! |

You can get a p/t job as a security officer in the mall, etc. You can apply for a position/internship in your local sheriff's office--they might even get you TCLOSE certified which gives you extra pts on your application when you apply to a police department. |

You need to apply to the law enforcement training academy in your area after you graduate. Contact your local police or sheriff's department for any internship opportunities they may offer. |
