Director employing someone that doesn't work?

are there any legal issues that prevent a company employing somebody who is incapable of work...say for example somebody >90 in a residential carehome who has dementia.
are the directors of the company culpable for this, can it be justified?

That is what I am trying to ascertain, the liabilities of the directors involved.

I can think of a lot of reasons for this, all of which are legal and above -board.
You can try asking the directors. If it is your business, as you say, then they will have to answer you. If you are a shareholder in a company that does this, there could be an in camera reason for it being done, and then, unless you can prove that it is illegal, it is not your business. |

Unless they are putting somone at risk of life or limb....it's none of your business, and unless you want to be out of a job yourself, I would stay out of it. |

This is odd.
My guess is that there may be some form of contractual agreement here
For instance perhaps it is a former owner and there was an agreement to keep him on the payroll after conveyance of the business.
Or perhaps there was a sealed litigation that required his lifetime employment |

There are NO legal issues that prevent a company from employing someone who fits these characteristics you described.
It may be justifiable (although unlikely) to hire someone who has the characteristics you described.
The individual(s) who directed or agreed to the hire would most likely be culpable for any liability related to the hire.
