I have been told this but am unsure if it is correct or not.
I applied for a job, and made aware on the application form that I am registerd disabled, but on the day of the interview I had a fall downstairs and was unable to attend. Am I entitled to an interview whether or not the position I was applying for was filled or not??

you are never entitled to an interview.............
your disability is only an issue IF you need a reasonable accommodation to perform the essential duties of the job.
if the job is filled there is no reason for the employer to interview anyone else. if the job is not filled then you can call explain the accident and ask to be rescheduled. |

No one is "entitled" to a job interview. If someone else was hired, there is no job to interview for. If no one has been hired yet, you should have phoned immediately to explain you'd had an accident and ask whether they could reschedule the interview. |

There's no legal obligation on them to re-arrange the interview, even if you are registered disabled. It's the same for everyone - if they can't make it for whatever reason (e.g. illness) then it's at the organisation's discretion whether they are prepared to arrange an alternative date. It's worth explaining what happened and asking if they are prepared to interview you on another date - but don't hold your breath. |
