In December after being promised a managerial position was only being given 18 hours a week, then in a plea to make ends meet found additional employment then was fired via text message in retaliation. My employer always shorted my checks and i filed a wage claim. A day after it was sent in the mail i got a direct deposit for 311 then just thought it was done and over with. Last week the wage claim came back with a check for 50 and a direct deposit for 50 and they are claiming I owe them 359. Am i legally bound under iowa law to repay them?

This sounds to discombobulated. Overall, if they paid you any back wages due and they paid you more than what they were supposed to then you owe them back that money. End of story regardless of how they fired you. |

What are they claiming you owe them exactly for?
This question is best left to a lawyer obviously, since they can ask the necessary fact questions that may be important, even though you wouldn't think it would be. |
