Do employee has as a right of 8 hrs sleep before going back to job again?

Worked from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM and my employer scheduled me to come back to work the next day at 5:00 Am. I'm only able to sleep 4hrs before I go back to my work again.
Is this legal ? What would happen to my 8hrs sleep?

It all depends on the type of work. I work sometimes 24 hour shifts and we sleep. I'm a paramedic though. Some laws for some jobs are different. Waiters and waitresses minimum wage is $2.00 where a cashier would be 8.00. I don't see this as being illegal but not sure. On fridays i work 4PM-8am the next day. Then 12pm-4am.

They need to give you 9 hours off after an 8 hours shift. One to get home and back and 8 to sleep.

It's in the labour code. You can either quit or complain. But you will probably be fired if you do complain. They will just say it was for another reason.

If you don't like what your boss has you doing you can always quit. Its not illegal.

I believe that it shouldn't be legal. But that depends on what job you have. If you look at it, it should be illegal. But that is just wild guess. Maybe you should talk to your boss. I know it's hard but you should at least try.Not all bosses are easy on people but you never now. So step forward and approach your boss in a nonaggression yet stern way. If that doesn't work maybe the job isn't for you. Sorry to say. But think of the possibilities if you just try.

It depends how old you are and how many hours a week you're working. If you have been working for longer that 2 years with your employer you could take legislative action. Make sure to keep a record of all conversations with your employer regarding your complaint.
