Find answers to your legal question.

Do i have a case against my new employers?

I was offered a job with my local council working with vulnerable children aged 14-19 on condition of an enhanced disclosure. the disclosure came back clear except the additional comments box which stated i was due at court to answer allegation of theft from my previous employer. i kept my new empolyer aware of this but they have since removed the offer of employment to me because of this. Do i have any reason to challange this...ie do i have a leg to stand on as i have no convictions and i do not pose a threat to the clients id be working with

i live in the uk so us law would probably be different

No if you are a ex-thief you present too much of a risk to employ.

I am going to give you the correct answer, not a load of fluff, or tell you what a bum deal you are getting.
The council are quite within their rights to withdraw their offer of employment. You do not have any redress for that action.
All that remains for you is to have your day in court, if you are found innocent of the charges, that would be better than not guilty, then re-apply for the post. If they refuse to accept your application and if you are well qualified for the job, then you may, and I emphasise may, have a chance at discrimination, but do not hold your breath on that one.
