Do part time employees in Connecticut have the legal right to request time off?

If I give my boss two weeks notice on a day I can't work, can he fire me? Is there a number of days off I can request? Google isn't yielding any results...

Google isn't yielding any results because the employer pays you so he makes the rules, you can ask but he is under no obligation to grant any time off

You can request time off, but he doesn't have to give it to you and yes he can fire you if he schedules you and you can't or won't work. Actually CT is an employment at will state, so he can fire you for any or no reason unless isn't something legally protected like your race or gender.

But if you request time off, he might accommodate you even though he isn't legally required to.

This would depend on the individual company and the size of the company. If it is a very small companies, your employer is not required to give you any time off (primarily vacation time), even if you request it, because you are not on pay roll. I would check with your employee handbook, if there is one. Also, if you request time off and ask with plenty of notice it should not be that big of an issue. Your boss would have no grounds on which to fire you just because you requested time off. You might not get paid for that time though, as part-time employees do not get paid vacations and other such benefits.

Good luck, and if I were you, I'd go ahead and request the time. Your boss could always say no but he wont fire you for asking.
