Do you contact a potential employer if he tells you are being hried and doesn't contact you for a month?

I had been interviewed 2 x both by phone internationally and told I was being put to the next level then I heard nothing back. I sent a christmas greeting and asked if he coudl give me a time line so I know either way where I would stand but worded it politely I have heard nothing since? I am truly confused

I have a couple of friends who are going through this right now. I would contact them, but do not be surprised if you still do not hear from them. It is common due to the economy they may have decided not to fill the position once they reviewed their 4th quarter budget.

Definitely give them a call. You probably shouldn't have waited a month to inquire, but absolutely call and talk to someone.

I am not authority on the subject but I would call them back right away. If they tell you, you are hired it doesn't mean much unless you get it in writing.

Call the person you interviewed with and ask them if you can meet with them again. If they give you the run around then you'll probably know that you didn't get the job.

I think it's incredibly rude when companies do this. If you did get the job then go ahead and let you know. If you didn't get the job how much time does it take to send a quick letter saying thanks but no thanks. It sure would ease your mind if you knew one way or the other.
