Do you enjoy being a 911 operator?

Do you enjoy being a 911 operator?

I am seriously thinking of applying for a 911 op position, but have never known anyone who has done this for a living. I know there must be good/bad (just like any other job) but would
anyone be willing to expand? I don't want alot of ugly details- I really just want to know if it is as stressful as I imagine or as rewarding as I hope? Thanks in advance for your time.

I've been doing it for over 10 years and wouldn't think of doing anything else. It is VERY stressful, but can also be fun and rewarding.

If you are thinking about applying request to do a sit-a-long with a 911 center on one of their busier nights and observe. Make sure this is something you CAN and WANT to do.

** I'm not a 911 Operator, sorry.
I would think of it to be stressful and somewhat scary =/
I would probably have a panic-attack as the callers would. lol..but no doubt it would be rewarding. Because the system nowadays is faster and there will be better outcomes. And it will never be your fault for a delay because you're the 911 representative and the caller would be panicking.

It's a glorious job, I just play DS with my feet propped up on the desk ignoring that pesky ring

It's kinda stressful. To be honest, I love prank calls, because they give me a break from all the serious parts of my job. I don't appreciate it, however, when they go over the top.
