I need to find a work experience placement by February next year, and love the idea of working abroad in like America or Europe within the legal sector- preferably a law firm- however I have no idea how to go about it. I have googled it like a thousand times but I can't find anything- is this just wishful thinking or are there opportunities out there?

You need to call some actual places you would like to work at, and ask them if they have any intern or volunteer programs. You may not find a paying job, but the experience will look great on your resume. |

If I were you I'd contact the legal firms you're interested in and ask if they are in need of a summer intern? Someone to do odd jobs around the offices. Lots of places could use someone like that, a "girl friday" or so they call it. Prepare a resume and be sure to get their email/fax so you can send it to them. Good luck! |

You could try volunteer work at a museum, a law firm, or a charity. Even if you don't start out imedeately in legal work, it would look good on a resume and it would allow you to get a foot in the door. |

For the US:
To be paid, you would have to have a work permit/visa and it's doubtful a law firm (or any company) will assist in that process because it would only be for the summer (3 months) so they won't "get their money's worth."
I don't know if it's the same for volunteer work, but usually, a volunteer must be old enough to legally work in the same position so it probably is.
What you need to check is the State Department to find out the process to work legally in the United States.
For Europe:
Same thing - check to find out that particular country's requirements to work legally, even for a few months.
Ultimately, you might find out it isn't worth the hassle. |

anyway thats a long shot, u might do well to ask actual law companies for internships but it will be hard if you are not in college |
