Does anyone know a good wage lawyer in DC area?

I am a contractor and haven't been paid in a month. After the run around for the company I am hired by, they are currently saying they are in the middle of a litigation and assets are frozen. We were told to keep working and that our contract is supposed to be picked up by another company, but haven't heard anything yet. Word is that the govn't offored to pay us but the company turned them down. I am new to the area and do not have any money to pay for a lawyer up front. Does anyone have advice who I should go to? Oh and DOL has been notified, but we all know that could take months.

the DOL can't help you as you are a self employed contractor it is a civil matter, Most attorneys will not take it on a contingency basis unless they are sure they will get their fee
