Does anyone know of a LEGIT, work from your home PC, employment ?

I have found numerous sites but the all want you to sign up, send money, and sound a little shady. I need a little xtra income since the divorce! You know how that goes.....

There was an article on CNN yesterday about work-from-home jobs that are real. No need to send money to sign up, just pass the interview process.

They list a sample of 10 work-from-home companies that offer legitimate jobs.

Alpine Access is a call center company that uses customer service representatives that work from home. Employees use their own telephones and computers. The company provides representatives for clients like Office Depot and J. Crew.

• Convergys hires home-based call center agents who provide support in customer service, and also supplies sales agents or help desk staff for companies.

• Extended Presence provides their clients with outbound sales agents and marketing support staff who work from home.

• Internet Girl Friday provides information technology support as well as administrative services for clients nationwide.

• LiveOps provides customer service support for a variety of major corporations.

• Spheris provides support to medical professionals. Their services include medical transcription and clinical documentation.

• Staffcentrix supplies virtual assistants for business clients, including CEOs and upper management of major corporations.

• VIPDesk provides call center support and also offers a home-based concierge service to clients.

• Voicelog provides representatives to perform verifications for transactions done online or by telephone. Many states require changes to telephone service and other remote transactions to be verified by a third party, which VoiceLog provides.

• West At Home also hires home-based customer service agents. They cater to a specific range of industries, specializing in health care and pharmaceutical support, as well as the hospitality industry.

Employees need to meet some basic requirements, including having a telephone and access to a PC. Although the work is conducted from home, interviews for the job aren't always done remotely.

Working at home is a growing and legitimate opportunity, but workers should still beware of any job that asks you to invest money, provide access to a bank account or give up a great deal of personal information up front. These are indicators of a possible scam.

I hope that helps.

Yes, there are some very legitimate companies out there looking for home workers. Basically, any company seeking any type of fee is not legit.

Lots of people work at home and make decent money. Most of these do work at home that they formerly did in an office, often for the same employer - I know four people who do that. Others run their own businesses from home - I know two people who do that.

If you are asking about the "jobs" you find on the Internet, they're pretty much all scams, either looking for your signup fee or for your personal information so they can put you on a zillion advertising lists. You'll probably get answers here from people touting some website - look at how long they've been on Answers, and be especially aware of anyone who just signed up in the last day or two. If they just signed up today or yesterday, it's probably because Yahoo booted them off earlier for spam.

The only legitimate work from home business is an actual licensed business where your office and business address is your home address.

Think of an eBay business. Most eBay businesses are out of the home.

If you want to start a business out of your home, most likely it will involve distribution through the mail or some form of multi-level marketing.

Anything else, the only ones who are making money are the ones who are selling the work at home scams.

I can refer you to a place online of a legit company. Basically with the potential to make residual income. The amount is kind of up to you. But its definitely legit, and works. Its not a get rich quick, cause you wont. But if you work at it a few hours a day you will definitely generate some money. The initial fee is $10 which gets you a domain. And then you refer people back and you get 10% of their monthly fee. It uses the power of multiplication as well as technology as i could show you if your interested.

They are a legit company. Ranked #37 by INC Magazine of fastest growing companies in America. (They are international as well.)

Check out

Also Check out my BLOG where i am experimenting with the company. Since i trust it is legit, i am going to put it to work and see how it does. Im documenting daily.

There are freelance opportunities available which are genuine, but u have to bid for them and compete with the wages and hourly rates. list of such opportunities can be found here: http://outsource-guru.blogspot.com/ (for freelance outsourced jobs).

Also there are few home based transcription work, where in you get the data in images or audio form and u need to convert them back in text form and upload. list of such opportunities can be found here http://genuine-transcriptionjobs.blogspot.com/ (for Transcription jobs)

Here also you'd be competing against people from countries where the hourly rate of pay is a lot lower, so don't expect huge wages for such jobs, but still it might be good enough to start with.

If you don't want to put in much effort then there are some earning opportunities like receiving calls and uploading videos and some more freelance links you can try http://guidecash.blogspot.com/. Well no matter what you do you will have to take it up seriously and work hard initially to make good money from it.
