office hours are usually like 9-5 but then they may have to do a lot of other work outside of that. |

8-9 hours a day for the typical civil attorney. Depending on your work load, how evil your boss is, and if you have any upcoming trials or deadlines, this could be longer.
My boyfriend is an attorney and works 7:30-5, M-F, and 4 hours every 3rd Saturday. (His former boss had him working about 9:30-4:00, no weekends, lol.)
Most of the attorneys where I work put in about 40 hours a week in the office. I know my boss spends a lot of time working at home, so it varies. |

Well they usually don't have a set schedule. It's not like they work 9 to 5 and get off when the clock says so. They have a huge amount of work and a deadline to finish it by, so they have to work until it's done. I know lawyers that put in between 10-16 hours a day. |

Depends on what area of law one is practicing. There isn't usually a set number of hours as it can be a very demanding schedule. |
