My job is System Engineer. My previous boss ran away from financial issue, he didnt pay our salaries for 2months. We didn't realise that he would just run away like this, because he just asked us to go customer side to continue our work and don go back to office since he said he will not be there for roughly a week. so we continue our work as usual, we took few things from office for supporting purpose(we have the key). And what happens now is, the office has been broken by someone, all the things inside have been stolen, our boss's family reported to police and said we have stole the things, but in fact, we didnt, we only take few things to continue our work. So, my question is, am i guilty in taking their things since i didnt realise boss has missing, and by that time im still the staff of the company? Do i need to write a resignation letter?( but i believe they should pay our salary + compensation for 3months).
Additional Details
His family said police will issue arrest warrant to arrest us, is that possible? not even with evidence?
