Does my boss have a legal responsibility to return a form to my mortgage company stating my wage?

My employer is refusing to return a form to my mortgage company, asking him to state my wage. Unless he returns this form we will loose the house me and my partner have been looking so forward to buying as our first home. The only reason i can think of for him not doing this is that i never answered the phone to him when he started ringing me up drunk at 10 pm ! the phone calls went on till 3.45 am! now he is refusing to send back this form knowing that we will loose the house.

No your employer does not have a legal responsibility to send any paper work for your personal finances. I would ask your Mortgage company to send the IRS a Form 4506. It would mean that you are granting permission to the mortgage company to acquire your actual tax forms straight from the IRS. When I processed and underwrote loans, this was a common form for people with hard to trace income, fraud and self employment. If you have told a fib on the application about your income you may want to avoid that. Hope some of that was helpful. email me if you have any questions it should be on my profile.

Go over his head to his boss or ask the lender what alternatives you have, like pay stubs.

According to this website your mortgage company should be okay with just seeing your paystubs at least until you can get your boss to fill out the forms.
