Does my current employer have any legal rights to jeopardise my job at a new place?
Find answers to your legal question.

Does my current employer have any legal rights to jeopardise my job at a new place?

Somebody I manage at work has falsely brought a grievance of physical assault against me. To support his grievance he has put forward a fake witness. After the alleged incident I received a job offer at another place which I accepted (the actual job interview was before the alleged incident). After my current contract ends, can my current employer force me to come back for any hearings?

No.

The only complication might arise is if a disciplinary investigation were underway and the new employer asked for a reference. Your current employer would be entitled to say that an investigation was on-going...but nothing more than that.

Once you leave an employment, your former employer has no jurisdiction over you.

based off what u said, if the case goes to court or further info is need
5 0 may want to speak with you and you are required to attend. if 5 0 invovled then it's not about finishing your reports, its legal, just comply

In a nut shell no.
Your contract has ended when you terminated it by leaving.
The most your ex employer can do is conduct a disciplinary hearing investigation about this alledged assault in your absence, but the worst outcome would be that you could be dismissed for gross misconduct which may mean a comment would be written on your HR records. If ever your new employer found out about this (which i doubt they ever will) you could accuse your ex employer of damaging your integrity by being unfair by
a)not informing you and giving you the opportunity to clear your name.
b) not following ther own grievance policy,
Just leave, call it a bad experience and don't ever ask for a reference.

If they involve the police you will be forced to prove your case.

Your job offer is presumably subject to satisfactory references.
Have the references been provided and have you got a contract of employment from the new place ?

Whilst the previous employers can't force you to attend hearings, it may be in your interests to attend - if in the UK you might be able to claim constructive dismissal.

If someone accuses you of physical assault, then it should be an issue for the police, I would just go to your manager and discuss this with them, and if you have not done it, I would be going to the police and telling them that you have been accused of assault.
Surely if someone would of been physically assaulted they would take it to the police, just a sign of your innocence there.
