Does this mean I am getting hired ?

I had a interview today. The manager had a stack of papers and was nice enough to just ask me to tell her about myself. We discussed my schedule. She asked me if I would be able to work holidays and weekends. I said I could. Then she said do I have any criminal history. I said no. She said okay then we are going to do a background check and I will give u a call around wednesday and we will go on from there.

does this mean I'm practically hired? or what? She did mention she had other interviews but that was toward the end. She walked with me to the front and did say that I should definately expect a call around wednesday. Am I in the clear or what?

Loved by some, hated by most!
You might be or might not. I wouldn't sit around waiting for the call though, I would carry on looking for a new job then if they contact you and you don't have the job you could have interviews lined up and you wouldn't have wasted time waiting for the to tell you that. But I hope you do get it, my fingers will be crossed for you. :-)

Not yet. It sounds like you're a pretty good prospect, but some employers are really good about contacting all of their interviews, so keep in mind you may not have the job yet.

Nope

unfortunately, it does not mean you are hired. you may be a good prospect but there are others who may be better suited and qualified. sorry to burst your optimism.

It means wait till Wednesday and find out someone may just slide in with a little better application/resume than yours. Just be patiant and cross your fingers. GOOD LUCK!

No, i dont think you are hired yet, that's what they usually tell people "i'll call you next week" or so, you probably did good in the interview but you better wait until she call you. Good luck

Ryan
That's not a hiring. When you sign papers agreeing to a job description and what not, that's when you're hired. Up until that point, you're just a candidate.

However, if it's a slow area that doesn't hire that often, chances are you're probably in. At least that's the way it works around here. A background check for us means we're going to hire him and if the check comes back with stuff in it, we'll let him go during the initial 90-day probationary period.

Good luck!

Nope. Not at all. Who knows what your former employer is going to say or if something pops up in your background check or credit history report that is not appealing. I wish you the best of luck, but only you know if you are in the clear with anything negative that may come back to haunt you.

I think that you are in good shape. I think you should sleep well tonight. I even think that you know all this, because you are bright.
