Dominick's drug-free?

i am planning to work at Dominick's, but it says I should be drug-free.
I smoke. can smoking be a problem? is smoking a kind of drug??

Although nicotine found in cigarettes is a drug, it isn't illegal. Drug free means no weed or other illegal drugs

a drug free place is talking about illegal drugs not tobacco. but I have heard that some places will not hire you if you smoke.

They give you a drug test right on the spot. It is a swab of some sort that is tested by your saliva. I work there; and I smoke. You'll just have to smoke away from the building (with the new smoking laws)
