Employee rights?

I've been put on paid suspension since last month pending an investigation. So far the investigation has been completed, but I still don't know what I done wrong. I did not receive any write up for the suspension nor was I offer to see the investigation to see what I done wrong.
Now, since they removed me from a jobsite, I cannot return to work because the client doesn't want me there. I also been blacklisted and had my position with the company was revoked. They have offered me 2 different positions within the company which were half the salary that I've been hired for. They have released confidential information concerning my suspension to new clients in hope they could find me a new position. They were initially going to release me about 30 days ago. But I feel that they realize they screwed up in the first place and now they are scrambling to find me a job before I file a law suit. Do I have any employee protection?
Additional Details
Todate, they gave me my position back with the my salary. But they told me that the investigation will continue. I feel that the company had made a mistake the first time and will try find something else. This whole ordeal is personnally motivated in an attempt to fire me or to get me to resign. I have been documenting everything and thank you for your comments.

You likely don't have a leg to stand on in this matter. Sure, you can talk to an attorney, but it doesn't sound like anything illegal was done here.

You're lucky it was paid suspension.

The answer to your question depends on whether or not you have a contract with this employer. On the other hand if you can prove that you did nothing wrong then a good employment lawyer could probably help you and you have a good case against them. I would definitely talk to a lawyer about this because I actually think you have a good case against this employer, especially if you have had good evaluations, always done your work on time and did a good job. If you haven't missed a lot of work or called in a lot without good reason then I think you could win a lawsuit against them, but only if you have kept good records and you have everything in writing. I hope this helps some.
