I purchased airfare and turned in my itinerary from orbits which shows the cost but not how I paid for it. So now my company is demanding I give them my full credit card statement in order to be reimbursed. I feel this is an invasion of my privacy. Can they legally withhold reimbursing me until I send them my full credit card statement?

As you have rightly stated it is illegal and tantamount to invasion of privacy !!
You are bound to be reimbursed and you please demand the same . |

Yes they can, but here is what I suggest you do. Make a copy of the statement and cross out your account number information. Obviously your company knows your name and address of residence. They just want to see the charge on the statement. Now if they want your statement with the account number visible (which is absolutely not necessary) NOW they are asking for trouble. |

They need proof of payment. I don't think that you have to show them your entire statement if it is a personal credit card as opposed to business card, but you should have a copy of the payment that you made to Orbitz which you would submit. If you do not, or you've lost it, I am sure that you can contact them in regards to getting a new copy that lists what you purchased and the payment made, it would not be the first time they will have done this. The itinerary would not be acceptable since it does not show that a payment was indeed made. |
