I was hired and started working for a 40 K job in FL. Employer made me fill W4 and I 9 etc. After 2 days employer called and said she found another person who will take charge of her office since she would be out on the road expanding her practice and would not need me anymore.
I never got my check for the 2 days I worked and 1 day was a saturday (since it was busy, we were told to work saturdays for some weeks). How do I make a formal complaint to the Dept of Labor? The employer cheated me.

contact the Florida dept of labor and tell them the company you worked for and that they didn't pay you. they will contact the employer and deal with them. i had the same problem with an employer in Pa and i never even had to talk to them the dwept of labor did it for me. |

first you need evidence that you worked those two days and the amount on which she agreed to pay you. then sue her. to make a complaint with the dept of labor call them or go to one of their offices. |

Find the address for your local office of Department of Labor - Wage and Hour division. You can file the claim with them for unpaid wages, they will follow up for you. |

well i wouldn't be to rude about it but inform your former employer that you feel you should get paid for the two days you worked. Also maybe mention that you would have better things to do then that job !

Find them and make them pay. Tell Them " I'll make you a deal you can't refuse" and then sue their asses off. |

Contact the Attorney General's office for the state of Florida. You should be able to find it on the state website. They will call this employer directly and fight for you. Good luck. |
