In employment law, if you pass a job application process, but then the employer suddenly (and without warning) imposes another test to determine recruitment and selection... is this legal in the UK since this test was not mentioned anywhere in the posting?

I am no good at psychometric tests as I failed my 11+ but am very clever despite this and have done academically much better than former school pupils who failed theirs!
I failed some job applications during an assessment centre day due to psychometric testing and don't like those difficult career questions. I am in a current job where I didn't get any of those tests or questions. They just wanted someone who could do the job and are not bothered about career questions! It is only a small owner run company so this explains this. Small companies are often easier to get into so long as you have a local address (as they prefer and tend to recruit locals so the only way to be local or appear local is to have a local address!) so best to move to the area first with a rental share and then apply or use a friend's local address rather than an address far away. |

Sound as though your application was accepted and a subsequent test was arranged to determine the most suitable (if any) candidate, Because you fill in a form and hand it in does not mean you will get the job! |
