Employment Status.?

It is legal for employers to give written and verbal warnings, but do you think it should also apply the other way round? I.E Employees having their fair rights.

Respect to you my friend.
British law has got mechanisms in place that protect both sides - employees and employers.
Verbal and written warnings are the 'last line' that an employer takes in the discipline process and is widely regarded as standard practise in employment law. If you undergo this process for any reason, you have a right to a 'hearing' or a meeting with your bosses and a union rep. or a person that may defend your case.
Similarly, there are industrial tribunals that you can take your case to if you feel wronged so much. I believe that balances the employment disputes that come up from time to time. My advice to ALL people, is to be in a trade union, not to go on strike, but to help provide a safety net during any disputes.
Hope that helps, much peace to you. |

What do you mean, the other way around? Give them a letter saying that if they don't clean up their act, you will quit? You have every right now to do this.
Employees have a number of rights. In most places that does NOT include a right to continued employment. |

in the western world Employees do have rights, they will never be fair but they do have rights.
at the end of the day your boss is the boss, it would never work if you had as much say as he dose.
i hope i have understood your question well i just think you need to explain better |

Employees have the right to leave an employment any time subject to notice, they may use this right to exert influence over an employer, if the latter is reluctant to lose them.
The employer may only get rid of an employee in exceptional circulstances, ergo the employee is in the stronger legal position. |

yes employers can give written and verbal warnings if you have done something wrong. And most of the time employees are mad about it but most of the time if you get a written or verbal face it you need to correct the problem so it doesn't happen again. and if you did nothing wrong and you can prove it then fight it and get it taken off your record. Good luck
I also this employees should be able to do the same to the bosses, but it doesn't work that way, but none the less if you think they treat you wrong go higher up some one will care enough to help. |

yes its legal.
if you have a concern against your employer, you can file a complaint to your HR dept. if your manager sees an error, he is authorized (and required) to issue a warning. however, if you feel that your boss is not acting professionally (reprimanding you in public, humiliating you, blaming you for things you did not do), file a complaint to HR then take it up to your boss's boss. |
