I have been sending out lots of applications to many places and among them are some rental places like Rent fist and Arrons rental and Rent a center.

I have received call from all three, not for job interviews, but for sales. They have used my info to try and get me to buy from them. Is this illegal?

since you are not employed there is a question of confidentiality.you should contact the state attorneys generals office who will then inform and direct you down the right path

I'm pretty sure it is not illegal, but a tacky way of getting leads for sales. Really don't know what you could do. Maybe you could call the manager and ask if this is their practice.

I'm not sure if it's illegal... I would imagine it is. It is definitely unethical so if nothing else you can report them to the BBB.
