Finding a job with an adjudication withheld?

My boyfriend of 6 years had adjudication withheld on a felony and just got off on early termination of probation. He was planning on having his record expunged to apply for a better job, but his lawyer told him he was ineligible for it for driving on a suspended license (like 8 years ago). I am really irritated about all of this and getting the feeling that he's never going to be hired anywhere for the rest of forever because of what will show up on his background check. Honestly, it pisses me off that his mistakes can and will affect my future with him because of his now limited job market...opinions anyone? Has anyone in the same situation ever led a normal life afterward?

I'm going to dental school and so basically, I'm in a hole with this forever? I love him to death, but I know that financial security is a huge part of making a relationship work, and I don't want to take ALL the financial burden for the rest of my life because he can't get a decent job. What kind of job CAN he get? Any ideas?

Sales jobs can prove a lucrative career, and although while alot of them will look at backgrounds alot of them will also allow people to still obtain employment.

Just my guess..? I wish you the best because someone very close to me is also in this position.
