Fired & Denied Unemployment?

Fired & Denied Unemployment?

I worked for a large corp and was a temporary employee for 6 months before getting hired in. I mentioned this to show that I was a good employee in which the company felt I was a good employee to get hired in.

In February I was hired in and it was a huge transition to what I did as a temp but took on the challenge & was doing well. Needless to say things took a drastic change for the worst. From Feb - Sept my parents, brother & sister-n-law, my wife and finally me had car accidents causing me to go to the hospital and missing time for these occasions, I also continued going to doctor appts for my shoulder sinced I was on a sling and sprained it. I also had a death in the family and a funeral in which more time was missed. So all this being said I racked up close to 4 wks of missed time. So 08' was an awful year for me and I paid the price for it I received a verbal in July & a written in Sept. Granted my supervisor on both occasions mentioned it was just the guidelines they had to follow but they are aware of the situations that I've run into but hope everything gets normal for me.

So after that things got better I didn't have any more drama in Sept, Oct, Nov even putting in OT since my co-worker was out about 2 wks for her sons asthma. But after the thanksgiving holidays I picked up a virus which gave me a 102 fever and a right ear infection. I did visit the doctor and he prescribed me antibiotics and told me to return to work another day since what I had was contagious. These days were the 1st & 2nd of Dec. As I was returning to work on the 3rd my wife called my from home in severe pain in which she could not move. I had to turn around and I took her to the emergency room and was there all day and even called my employer from the patient room to give an update as to her condition.

I returned to work on the 4th with my Doctors note and a letter from the emergency room stating I was with the patient from 7:30am to 3:00pm. I returned to be told I was being let go even though I pleated with them stating the 2 causes I was out was beyond my control and I was sorry for that.

Today I've just learned that I was denied unemployment so the weeks I've been claiming I won't be receiving anything. So my question is should I just move on and more than likely lose my house since I've made 0 income since November or is it worth appealing?

don give up yet..when you claim unemployment..you should have put you didn't meet the employment requirement.file again and if they denied you again file a hearing against the judgment.maybe it could be that you didn't meet the quarter. they will send you a letter reason why you was denied on the letter will tell you if you feel this was wrong you could respond to the following address above within 30 to 60 days...if you feel that you cant keep up with your rent and you have kids and a wife there other help. i no public assistance help pay rent and other thing..please don be ashamed to apply all you need is the letter from your job saying why you was fired and the denied letter from unemployment and your lease for how much you pay a month...please don let your self fall apart be strong keep your head up every one need help time to time

I'm so sorry to hear what's happened to you. Unfortunately, you don't have any recourse with the job. They fired you so you're not eligible for unemployment. You can only get that if you've been laid off or your position eliminated. You may have been a good worker but they needed someone there and not out sick or taking care of business other than theirs. Don't take it personal - Keep your head up- you're going to be ok. I know this is difficult but please just be grateful that you are alive, well and so is your family. This is a hard time for everyone right now but you'll be ok. You won't lose your house, it's just going to be tight for a while until you get another job. Thank God you are able to work. Take an odd job while you're looking for permanent work(starbucks, borders....anything) just to keep some sort of cash flow coming in, even if it only pays for food. If there is anyone else in your house that is of age to work.... get them working too. You can't be daddy take care of everything right now. You need help.

Rent out one of your bedrooms. If you have to merge family members into rooms together for that to happen then do it. I'm doing that right now and wish I had done it sooner. I could have had some money in my pocket or at least bills paid. I would prefer the privacy but I realized, I LOVE a roof over my head...(LOL). You've got to suppliment your income right now so think about the family and get used to the idea of sharing with a stranger. You'll help each other- they need a place to live and you need the money. Even if you have to move out of your bedroom and move into the living room... rent out one of your rooms. Check craigslist and look at all the people doing it. It's better to merge with strangers and help each other.

Think positive. If you believe in God. PRAY PRAY PRAY! He's got your back and knows all about what's happened. He's just waiting for you to give it to him so he can fix it.

God Bless you...........You're going to be just fine. Believe it!!!

It costs money to appeal and many people are being let off without even having any problems they just found a way to lower wages that is all and you are not the only one who lost a house this year believe it or not you are actually one of the majority this is happenning to
