I work in a small law firm. 2 attorneys and 1 paralegal and me. There is a surprise party for my boss's 60th birthday. I don't know what to get him. He always dresses real nice. He drives a Jaguar. He can buy anything he needs or wants. I don't have tons of money either. What do I get him?

It's a Saturday evening dinner party not at the office. At a hall with catering, a bar, and music.

Is it an office party or an outside party? You don't have to get him anything if it's an office party. It's mildly inappropriate and a tad uncomfortable to accept gifts from your subordinates. If it's outside, stick to a bottle of wine or a fruit basket. |

Your office sound alot like mine. Two attorneys one clerk and me. I suggest you get him a birthday cake to share with everyone. Thats what I got for one of my bosse's bithday this past March. Everyone love the cake and we spent a little time togeather eating it and talking. It was a very good 20 minutes of sharing our thoughts.

Just get him a birthday card, and maybe you can get him a chess game. Every man likes to have a chess game....Just don't spend a lot of money just because he dresses nice. Go simple....like we all say the thought it's what counts:) |
