You should go to the American Bar Association's website at www.abanet.org
they have lots of info about the profession. The legal rules of the court are specific by each state and the courts within that state. So you may want to look at your state's website and see what information the courts provide.

Generally in every court the Judge runs the show. Lawyers talk when the Judge asks them to. For example in closing arguments we begin with the phrase "may it please the court" which shows respect for the judge. As a lawyer you must know the laws that apply to your case, the facts of your case, and then look at how the other side is going to prevent you from making your case.

Not all lawyers get into the courtrooms, many hearings are held in less formal places such as offices or even on the phone. A lawyer makes an objection when the other side says something that they should not, such as using hearsay in testimony. You may want to also look at

http://www.justice.org/cps/rde/xchg/justice/hs.xsl/918.htm

this is a list of material from the American Association of Justice, another lawyer organization. In addition most law schools have websites with interesting info, so look at the ones in your area.

Being a lawyer is a great job. Contrary to what a lot of people believe most lawyers do not make a ton of money. Why? Because there are so many lawyers being turned out by law schools every year. But if you really want to be a lawyer and are willing to work hard at it, it is a rewarding profession. Best of luck to you.

it's great that you want to become a lawyer. to do so, you have to go law school. so for now, focus on getting good grades at school. and also, get out in the world. join sports teams, clubs, volunteer. Law Schools like students that get the world, that aren't just about what's in a book. Plus if you are in a courtroom you need to be able to speak in front of groups and not be embarrassed. So join the school play, the debate team and that sort of thing.

that will get you started and the rest you will learn. Because the rules and the language in a courtroom isn't something you learn in a few classes. it's long and detailed and specific to where you are and what you want to gain.
