I would love to get a degree, but don't you basically have to just work, eat, sleep, study and nothing more?

Yes, you don't go to school full time, but you take one or two courses at a time. You go nights and weekends. I did it with a child and working full time. You can also get your degree faster by taking CLEP tests for courses. http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/clep/about.html

yes and with children too , it is hard work but well worth the time go to school online or something . or take one class at a time . and yeah it goes something like you said but you just have to know when to take a rest and manage your time well. studying isnt like a chronic thing if you dont make it that way. but if you want to study a lot you can.

I did just that a little more than10 years ago, but I only made it through 2½ years of college before burning out.

It really was tough holding down a [demanding] full-time job while attending college full time! Like you said, work... eat (when I found the time)... study... and sleep (wherever and when ever you can).

BTW - I was a biochemistry major at the time.

Yeah, but it's easier if you have family to help out once in awhile. My friend went back to school at 39 and still worked 60 hours a week. His wife made it easy for him by taking on some of his house duties for him, and now they are planning on her getting her masters while he takes over her chores.
