Has anyone ever been sacked and managed to get another job?

Me personally - no.

We've hired someone who was sacked from her old job. I'm not sure why she was sacked, but we ended up terminating her at the end of her probation period because she was crap!

If you're asking because you've been sacked and you're wondering about future prospects, I would say the following:
- A lot will depend on why you got sacked. Was it something relatively simple, such as failing to come to grips with a software program? Or was it because of something severe such as theft? Clearly, one is a lot more likely to put off future employers than the other.
- Will your old employer still give you a reference? Even if they do say that you got sacked, is there still something positive about your work that they can say?
- You need to be honest throughout the interview process with a new employer. Don't not mention it, and then let them get to a stage where they contact the old employer for a reference and it comes up. Instead, be upfront, but turn it into a positive by saying what you learned from the experience.
- As with anytime you look for a job, no matter what your reasons for looking, how long it takes you to find something will depend on what you do and what the employment market is like where you live. Senior-level positions always take a lot longer to find than entry-level. If, for example, you were a secretary in the London area, it's likely that you could find a new job by the end of the week.

It does not make a tick of differance as long as its not for dishonesty.A cv is a very flexable thing, some jobs forgotten and others made longer to fill the spaces and presto. "As the whole world is dumb except you and me, and even you are sometimes a little dumb."

Gross misconduct after 20 years in job while i was suspended was also getting paid well from another job then back into full time work and have been for 5 years

i was sacked because i stuck up to my manager, then her and the store manager ganged up on me one day and then fired me an hour later. i found another job two months later.

Sure sometime things just don't work out...I'm retired now and I think in the last 40 years I got fired 4 times....I was a thermo engineer and had a 6 figure income when I gave it up....didn't hurt me....

Most people get fired at least once in their lifetime. Just keep filling out those job applications and do your best at an job interviews that you get. If the job you were fired from was short term and you do not really need to list it on your resume then leave it off and do not mention it unless the interviewer somehow finds out about it and mentions it to you.
