Yes many many times. The problem is there are too many people applying for the same job. |

It doesn't mean you did something wrong. Usually there are lots of people in the first round of interviews, and just three or so in the second round - but that still means that not everyone will get hired. If you made it to the second round, the people that interviewed you first though you could do the job. If you don't end up getting it, you just got unlucky and somebody else in the round looked like they could do it better - it's nothing bad about you.

No i've not, and thats because we don't usually do 2nd interviews in the UK.
If you've been for one and not gotten hired don't worry about it, lots of people get told they haven't got the job basically the employer finds who they like on a personal level and who is able to do the job better, more confident, chatty, intelligent etc etc maybe there was someone who had more experience than you ..
It doesn't mean that you won't get a job in the future. |

Actually, I i/v'd for a job 5, count em, 5 times and still did not get it. If you get asked back for a second, normally there are other strong candidates also being asked back. It normally comes down to the basics: who fits better in the organization and who is a better long term fit. |

Yep, it's happened to me lots of times. I can't say there was any particular reason for not being hired. I suspect the other candidate was simply better than me or more closely met the hirer's expectations than I did. If it's happened to you, don't fret over it - it happens! Take comfort from the fact that you nearly got it and will probably get the next one. |
