Have you ever worked in an environment where fellow staff members behaved in such a manner that the office was filled with constant stress all the while the employer looked the other way knowing full well what was going on?

yes, and the best thing i did was ignored all the BS at work. If someone is starting carp with me then i tell the boss and continue with my work like it never happened. Because u know it will happen again so forget it happened. |

Yes, I have. One girl had been there forever and took smoke breaks every hour. One attorney complained, and the girl's attorney said she gets her work done and that's fine with me. Another paralegal came into work late, left early, took a lot of breaks, but because she was a partner's paralegal, nothing was done. Another attorney "abused" his secretary - i.e., yelled at her for making a mistake, gave her last minute deadlines just before she was leaving, and just being plain rude to her that one day she upped and left. One female attorney claimed she was easy to work for yet would send "nasty-grams" to her secretary about the work not being done and filing not up to date. Many times it would be the attorneys who made the staff stressed and just ignored it, thinking it would go away. So I left, and feel much better. |
