Help! I'm presenting to CEO's, VP's, and Attorneys!?

Hello all:

I need some serious help here, I've accepted a job where I'm expected to present information to CEO's, VP's and even some immigration attorneys beginning this spring!

My boss really likes my presentation style and recommended me for this job. I accepted it and like the challenge BUT lately, I've been doubting myself. I'm in my early 20's but have the knowledge to get the job done. Will these execs see me as immature? How can I keep them interested in what I'm saying instead of thinking "...she's just a kid, what does she know about this? I could be her parent!"

In a presenter, what do Execs really appreciate? Any advice would be great! I begin presenting at the end of March...aahhhh! I'm becoming more and more nervous...HELP!

In a presenter, people look for someone:

1. Polished
2. Professional
3. Confident
4. Knowledgeable

Make sure you know your stuff; know how to be the above four, but at the same time, humble.

Also, don't expect that these execs and attys are older; who knows, they may be your age! at any rate, it shouldn't matter.

I recommend you practice your presentation around several different groups, just to get the feel of it.

OK, you got the job and you know your stuff. Thats all you need. Let them look at you as a young perfessional. They will make there own assumptions but if your polished, well organized and knockout the presentation, I assure you that you will be a major player on your job. You have a bright future ahead of you. Think of this presentation as the 1st of many more down the road.
I know you'll do well and please remember that CEO's, Presidents, VP's etc.. are human too and they put there pants on the same way you do.

Knowledge and sincerity is what they will appreciate. You need to be yourself, relax and be knowledgeable about what you are talking about. Don't use any of this new age slang, use direct eye contact and smile when appropriate. Lick your lips and take a few deep breaths before a presentation, this will help calm you down. These execs will respect you if you are honest and knowledgeable.

If you were recommended for the job, don't worry. Just keep doing what you are doing. They won't see you as immature. People don't change that much as they get older. I had a sales job at one point in my life, and the people in my training class were in their 30's and 40's. When the instructors made an error and left us alone for an hour, we changed the time on the clock, put music videos on the overhead projector, wrote on the board as though we taught ourselves, and a bunch of other very juvenile things.

You will do great!! Keep presenting as you have been.

Your personal appearance will give you confidence. Make sure you are immaculate and in keeping with your position.

Also practice in front of a mirror - think of Robbie Burns when he said - 'If only God would give us the gift to see ourselves as others see us.'

If you present yourself with confidence and have content in your presentation you will do well. There is no way you can avoid age-gap judgement, but remember your boss has confidence in you.
