Interesting question. You can post anything you want on a forum, as long as it is within their guidelines. If you post something that is not according to their guidelines, generally your post will be deleted by the forum administrator. Sometimes they will warn you first. If you make a habit of violating their rules, they will ban you from the forum. As to legality, no, it's not illegal to post links to other sites, but it may be against that particular forum's policy. Most forums allow you to have a signature file with links to your websites in it. You won't be removed or your posts deleted for that. Hope this helps. |

It's not illegal, but it is spam, which will probably get you banned very quickly.
If you don't care, you can do it... but personally, I hope you die in a fire, because this kind of advertising is rude and doesn't compensate the owner of the website in any way, so it's equivalent to theft of resources for commercial gain, as far as I'm concerned.
It would be great if people found legitimate ways to advertise - or at least went to the effort of launching a proper viral campaign, which is entertaining as well as advertising.
Unfortunately though, spammers have no conscience, and are just looking to cover their azz. |
