Hired at 5 full time shifts to 1!?

I was hired at fulltime pay/hours, 5 shifts even 6 a couple times..the new schedule is up, im not in trouble or anything, but i have 1 shift, are they allowed to do this when i was hired at fulltime, to just decrease me to 1 shift this week???? i need money, and its very frustrating, please help if possible.

depends. you should talk to your HR rep and find out if you ARE in fact working full time. i think the rules for full time is you must be scheduled for at least 30 hrs a week. if you're part time you can't be scheduled more than 30. but if you're Casual, they can do whatever they want. 60 hrs/3 and a half hrs. whatver. |

The laws are different in each state/province/country, so the answer is going to depend on where you are working. If you are in the US, and are working "at-will" then your employer can generally change your shifts, number of hours, work days to fit their needs. The general departure from this is if you have signed a contract that speaks directly to your situation, or if you are part of a union and your contract covers this. |
