i need to get a physical before i can start my job at a hospital. i am wondering what this physical entails and what i need to do to prepare.
any answers will be greatly appreciated.

I had to fill out an extensive health questionnaire. I also had to have a TB skin test and provide proof that all of my immunizations were up to date.
I think I did a standard eye chart eye test as well. It was really pretty basic. The questionnaire was very detailed and went all the way back to childhood illnesses and my parents health.
I did not have to have a chest xray nor did I have blood samples taken. I don't recall giving a urine sample either to be honest.
We did have to do N95 and N100 mask fit tests but that came after being hired.
As far as being prepared, just touch base with your parents and find out if you had anything other than normal childhood illnesses or any complications from them.
Make sure you know whether your vaccinations are up to date as well.
Have a list of any meds you're currently on, and any you have problems with. Being a woman they'll likely ask you when your last pap was, and when your last period was.

They will take blood, get a urine sample. Give you your TB screening (skin test). They will also do your TB mask fit test. They may even make sure you are able to bend, stoop, stretch, etc to be sure you will be fit enough to do your job. |
