I had a paper route at 9 with 120 papers to deliver to indivisual homes...not an apartment building or anything like that.
It all depends on your brothers maturity and work ethic, the neighborhood in which he will deliver, (lots of freaks out there) and whether he has to collect the customers money (which I did.)
I actually bought my route at 9 years old off of the guy who had it for 50 bucks. That was 40 years ago! I quit when I was 15, saving enough money for my first car! Then I gave the route to my little brother, who years later gave it to his little brother. etc.
It's a great idea for him!! Teach him work ethic and how capitalism works. |

It likely varies by state and employer. But I had a paper route at age 11 (quite a while ago!!). Give the local paper a call. |

I think it is generally at the discretion of the newsagent.
He will probably be able to get a job, but i think 13 is the preferred age.
